How NLP Training Improves Employee Engagement Skills
Apr 28, 2016According to Deloitte’s 2015 Global Human Capital Trends survey, employee engagement and culture issues exploded onto the scene, rising to become the number one challenge companies face around the world.
It is now more important than ever to develop the skills to engage, motivate, inspire and develop the people in your company so that they want to stay working with you.
Culture drives many outcomes in organisations, perhaps most prominently, employee engagement and retention. That can spell bad news for a lot of companies.
More than half of respondents say their organisations have either a poor program or no program to measure and improve engagement.
So how can NLP training help improve engagement?
There are some people that you naturally seem to get along with. You quickly get them and they get you. Working with them is easy because they do things in the same way as you.
And there are other people that are difficult to work with. They do things so differently from how you that it seems impossible that you will ever be able to work well together.
This happens because everyone experiences situations from their own unique perspective.
It is estimated that we are only able to experience one half of 1,000,000% of the information available to us.
People are filtering this massive amount of information around them differently and creating many different perspectives of the same situation.
When someone is experiencing a situation in a completely different way from you it can become difficult to engage that person because it is almost as if they are speaking a different language!
NLP is the methodology of how behaviour is created. In other words, it is a set of skills that teaches you how people filter information to create their own different perspectives in their own communication language.
When you know the communication language that someone is using, you are able to communicate with that person from their perspective, using their communication style, rather than your own.
It is now estimated that approximately 20% to 30% of communication is verbal (previous research said only 7% of communication is verbal)
Which means that 70% to 80% of communication is by voice tone and body posture.
Our NLP training covers both the verbal and non-verbal elements of communication.
And as well as listening to the words people are saying, you pick up clues from voice tone, body posture and learn graceful ways to question people to get a fuller picture about any situation you are working with.
